Our organic lamb shanks having been expertly cut and vacuum sealed by our master butcher have a shelf life of 14 days from the day it was packaged.

MOST AMAZING LAMB SHANK RECIPE!

Turkish Lamb Shanks   PRINT

INGREDIENTS:

4 large lamb shanks

2 tbsp paprika

2 tbsp ground cumin

2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp allspice

1/2 tsp ground cloves

1 tsp salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

1/4 cup olive oil

2 large onions, chopped

8 firm plums, cut in half

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup white wine

2 cups hot chicken stock

 

RECIPE:

Mix all the spices together in a bowl: paprika, cinnamon, cumin, allspice, cloves, salt + black pepper

Rub the spice mix into the lamb, covering it completely and set aside

Heat oil in a pan, sauté onions on low heat until brown, halve and pit the plums. Add all of the plums to the onion mixture with the sugar and cook for a few minutes with the onions.

Remove the onions and plums with a slotted spoon into a bowl and set aside. Add lamb shanks to pan and brown on all sides. Add the white wine and cook down by half.

Add the hot stock and return the plums and onions to the hot pot. Adjust the seasoning, set at a simmer, cover and cook for 180C in oven for 60-90 minutes or until fork tender.

Serve with mashed potato and green beans or saffron rice.
