Certified Organic Beef Suet - 1kg Minced

Our Certified Organic Suet is the gold standard of animal fat – carefully sourced from healthy, pasture-raised animals and certified organic for your peace of mind. This hard, clean fat from around the kidneys of the animal is prized for its purity, high nutrient content and versatility in the kitchen.

It comes minced and sealed for maximum yield.

Why Choose Certified Organic Fat?

  • No pesticides or chemical residues – Animals are raised on organic pastures free from synthetic sprays, GMOs and harmful chemicals.
  • Hormone & antibiotic-free – Certified organic standards ensure your fat is free from growth promotants, routine antibiotics, bovaer, mRNA and feedlot contaminants.
  • Higher nutrient quality – Animals raised on organic pasture produce fat richer in omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K), and clean, stable energy for your body.
  • Better for you & the planet – Organic certification guarantees ethical farming practices and sustainability.

Benefits of Our Certified Organic Suet

  • High smoke point – perfect for traditional cooking.
  • Rich in fat-soluble vitamins and clean energy.
  • Supports healthy hormone function and cell repair.
  • Pure and stable fat that stores well.
  • Zero artificial additives, fillers or bleaches.

How to Render Suet into Pure Tallow at Home

Rendering your own tallow from our minced suet is simple and rewarding. Here’s our easy method for clean, pure tallow:

You’ll need:

  • Minced certified organic suet
  • Large heavy-based pot
  • Water
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Clean jars for storage

Method:

  1. Combine suet & water: Place the minced suet in a large pot. Add enough water to just cover the fat. The water helps draw out impurities and prevent burning.
  2. Slow render: Gently heat on low, stirring occasionally. As the suet melts, impurities will separate out and sink. Allow it to simmer for 2-4 hours until the fat is fully rendered.
  3. Strain: Pour the liquid fat and water mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean bowl, discarding solids. Chill to separate the fat from the water.
  4. Final boil: Return just the fat (no water) to the pot and gently heat again for 10–15 minutes to drive off any remaining moisture. It will crackle and spit as the last water buddles dissipate. This ensures your tallow will be shelf-stable.
  5. Store: Pour the clear liquid tallow into clean jars and let it set. It will turn creamy white as it cools.

How to Use Your Homemade Tallow

  • Cooking & Frying: Perfect for roasting vegetables, frying eggs, or searing meats thanks to its high smoke point and neutral flavour.
  • Traditional Baking: Use in pastries, biscuits, or suet puddings for rich flavour and flakiness.
  • Skincare: Tallow is deeply nourishing for dry or sensitive skin. Use in DIY balms or as a natural moisturiser.
  • Preserving: Store at room temperature in a sealed jar for months, or refrigerate for extended freshness.
